Lakshman Rao Kotturu was born in 1987 in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. He works with a wide range of materials, including fibreglass, m-seal, knives and nails to create cathartic artworks that explore angst and pain. The primary subjects of his sculptures are animals. The artist’s debut solo exhibition, titled Footprints on a Broken Mirror, was held at Sakshi Gallery in Mumbai in 2017. Kotturu was awarded the Chandra Ilango Art Foundation’s Jury Award in 2015.
